This really seems like a stupid thing to argue about. As soon as it gets to surplus stores every fatass with twenty dollars will wear it. There is not a lot anybody can do about it.

I happen to dislike non-service members wearing anything service related, especially liberal trash actors pretending to be soldiers. But, not much can be done to stop it, I personally hope for a good solid ass kicking to be given to posers caught pretending to be Marines.

Oh sweet Jesus, here we go again.

Personally, I think some of the European camo patterns look "cooler" and work just as well if you know what you are doing.

Anyway, I'm fleeing to the Pistol cal board before this explodes in a Class 1 shitstorm.

The elves had the cloaks, not the hobbits. (Or the cloak of invisibility that Harry Potter had. Not to mention the one of Richard Rahl or even the one used by Van Damme in Predator, but that was more of an energy shield like the klingon cloak in Star Trek...)

MARine PATtern should be for Marines only. I'm not going to threaten anybody over it, but I'm sure as heck not going to run out and get some, because it is not the uniform I was issued. I'm just proud to wear the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor. It was good enough for Chesty Puller, and it's good enough for me! [;D]

If someone is wearing the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor in a respectful way, I certainly support that, even if they never served one day. If someone looks like a slob, and appears to sully the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor, I'll probably call them on it, even if they are a retired vet.

I fought like hell to be able to wear that emblem, so I may have a little more emotionally invested than the next guy.

"Keep the faith", but that doesn't mean you have to go and "get religion!"

Jeez, I like GI issue cammies for playing paintball, cuz they are cheap and hold up real well, unlike cheap hunting cammies.

I wear an Airforce flight jacket in the winter because it's warm, rain resistant, comfortable and helps hide my CCW in a sholder holster.

I don't wear any type of "camo".

In the summer I sometimes wear an Army tan fatigue shirt at the range to hold extra ammo, spent brass, etc. Also on trips if I am using my cameras and related equipment. It's cheeper than a photography vest.

I've been in the service, proud of it and don't want to pretend that I'm still in.

I do have a Spiderman suit that I wear at home though. [8D]

What is the big difference between some fatass at a gun show in regular BDUs and MARPAT? Just because MARPAT is new and supposedly cool-looking? I don't get it. The fatass at the gunshow obviously isn't in the military, and he isn't trying to convince anyone he was a Marine, a Navy SEAL maybe, but they never impersonate Marines.

I like the story about the bank robbers who wore masks and cammo to help intimidate their victims.

The problem is that every piece of cammo clothing is unique. They caught them later without the money, but they could prove that it was them by matching the cammo clothing to the video recorded at the bank they robbed.

When I was in the service, pre-cammo, two guys robbed the commissary the day after payday. They wore their uniforms with panty hose. Walked outside with $230,000 in cash and checks, pulled their masks off, and looked like one of 35,000 other guys.

Biggest crime in LA in those days.
