it's pretty sad if icons on a website somehow define you.

people will remember/respect you if you are ethical, moral, intelligent, and/or witty.
they won't remember/respect you just because you have an icon.

i don't want an icon, i don't need an icon, i don't bother to "check" other's icons –– they can stay or go or be cloaked and it would not affect me one bit. so write a how-to, help other folks out, provide useful knowledge, dispense good advice, and/or contribute constructively to the site –– all are noticeable positive impacts. not a stupid fucking icon.
