It totally pisses me off when you can't hardly read the letters/characters.

I usually have to enter the code at least three or four times.  They usually use some weird font and have a strange background that makes almost impossible to discern capital letters, or what the letter even are half the time.

Why is this so difficult?  Why can't it be easier to read?

Never had a problem with it.

I know.  But why does it suck so bad?  It's even worse when they use a background that has a similar color to the letters, and you can't even see the letters!

Depends.

A lot of them I have no problem with.

Some are so fuzzy and distorted that it's impossible.  I'll normally just find another site with what I need if that happens rather than waste my time trying to figure it out.

I think some of them do go a little overboard, and overestimate the OCR capabilities of automated bots/scripts.

If I ever have a problem I just hit refresh until I get one I can read better.  Alot of them have that option now.

It's because people have made programs that can read simple captcha.

Yep, me to.

I always get the letters that might be numbers (like lowercase l).

HOLY SMOKES I'VE GOT 3 MILLIONS CASES OF SHOES,IPODS, CARS ,AND DEATH RAYS WHICH I WILL SELL AT       ROCK         BOTTOM      PRICES!!!!!!!!!!!!

I despise spammers but at the same time love to make fun of them.

I think if the image thingy works at stopping the "insane low sales" we should keep it

I don't know; I probably hate captcha more than anyone here, but the hackers are pretty good:

Capcha? It had me convinced I must be a bot because I can never get it

I don't mind them if they give you an option of refreshing it to something you can read. I had to set up a g-mail account when I bought my new cell phone and was ready to scream because it was so bad on Google.
