I've never heard of that. Is it a scholarship program? Have you taken advantage of it?

I remember a post in the general forum of someone who went through dental school paid by the Army. I just remember him saying it wasn't worth it and I'd like to know why.

No, I haven't been through it but I've helped several people get in touch with the AMEDD recruiters to learn more.  I've talked to the AMEDD recruiters and it's a pretty good deal if you want to serve as an Army doctor for a few years.  Basically, they'll pay for medical school, vet school and, I assume, dental school.  In return, you work for a few years for the Army.  You get to pick your school as well.  As far as medical school, if you get accepted, score a 29 on the MCAT and 3.5 or better GPA, you are guaranteed to be accepted into the HPSP.  If so, they'll pay for all of your school.  Can't get much better than that.

My dentist got trained that way.  He had to do two years active duty for every one year of school to repay the DoD.
