Of fighting to over turne the major gun laws?

I voted '34, but I didn't think that through. That wouldn't do you much good with '86 still there.  Woopie! Now you can buy your $25k machine gun and not pay the $200 tax!

I retract my vote and vote '86.  Flood the market with new MG's.  At a fraction of the cost of what they go for now, the $200 tax wouldn't be so bad, if the total cost for a new select fire M4 was like $2000.

But it isn't realistic to take out 34 first.  The 86 ban keeps NFA to placate the fence sitters, and lets you buy a M16 for 1000 dollars instead of 16000 dollars.

You can't go for the throat and expect to win in politics.

You can't just move your rook past a line of pawns and kill the King.

The next step is state level gun control laws and bans -- Chicago/Illinois, California, all of those New England states.

'68, without a doubt.

The '86 ban is based on the idiotic "sporting purposes" theory found in the '68 GCA. So are nearly all the more recent gun control legislation (like the now-expired AWB) and import restrictions. Every Executive Order restricting importation of arms or ammunition is based on enforcing the provisions of the '68 GCA.

My dad is still fuming about that one.
