Deepdiscountdvd.com is usally where I buy.  Free shipping.  There are lots of places.  Check out hometheaterforum.com for all kinds of info on hardware and software.  Those guys are really into their gear.

Believe it or not, but I have bought a lot of my DVD's at various pawn shops.  I'd try a few around town if I were you...

Try eBay.  I get half of my DVDs from there.

You might also consider the other concession to the 21st Century: home theatre sound.  Those DVD's had some great sound and I think really adds to the experience when combined with a 5.1 sound system.  Even VCR playback benefits from it.

Holy Crap.  I bought a DVD player for Christmas figuring I should move into the last century.  Well, not enough inputs on the old receiver, so upgraded the receiver, then speakers/subwoofer, and since I had great sound picked up and HDTV and tuner.  That damn DVD player cost me about five grand. [:P]

You can actually find really good deals on DVDs at local stores if you check the Sunday ads and get em on sale.
