I've noticed that when I drive, I find it more comfortable for my gun to be pushed back to my 4-5-O'clock position. However, when I'm out of the car and walking about, it is more concealable (and comfortable) at my 3-O'clock.
The position of my belt loops on my pants, would restrict me from adjusting the holster forward or backward depending on where I am. Also, even if I decided to commit to 3 O'Clock position... it would typically require that I interweve my belt between the holster loop and the pant loop. I used to do this, but have broken pant belt loops before doing so. Also, it's a pain in the ass to do. For that reason, I completely skip the 3 O'clock position belt loop. Anyone else do the same while carrying? |
No. I want more belt loops, although not underneath the holster.
No, I interweave. Ive got enough slide in my holster to move it, and I dont move it much.
Generally, no. Some of my pants cooperate better with my holster than others though. |
No, I can slide my Supertuck where I need it. If a belt loop is in the way, I just put the clip on the other side of the loop.
Belt should weave thru holster, than belt loop, than holster again.
That's real retarded, sir.
Belt loops exist for a reason. Use them. |
AIWB, I don't apply.
Even still, you don't know how to wear a holster. Weave the belt through both the holster and your belt loops. |
Nope, IWB or OWB I use that loop to lock the holster in place.

No.
Also, how can a holster be more concealable at 3 o'clock rather than 4 o'clock? |
I use a Blackhawk serpa holster that is the paddle style, I put my belt on then slide the holster where I want it over the pants and belt.

No. Seems like it would be too loose. View Quote This. You very well could have a problem drawing if your belt is loose because you didn't use a belt loop. Instead of the gun clearing the holster, the gun, holster and belt will all come up and you'll be sitting there screwing around trying to figure out what is going on. |

I do, but I appendix carry OWB.
I like the Aker Leather belt slide holsters and stiff Wilderness double nylon belts. I can make an Hk45CT disappear on my body frame just as well as a Glock 19 or 17. I've also found that crisply starching and ironing my shirts with heavy spray starch really helps concealment. Somehow, it also seems to make onlookers presume you're the decent upstanding non-threatening type. I realize how silly that comes off, but I grounds to believe it's true. To be specific I am talking about carry shirts that have disruptive prints. You don't have to have a shirt that's TOO loud to pull it off. I've tried a lot of ways to carry, using my own judgement. Thus far I haven't found a better system. It is a good idea to ask friends who presume you're carrying to critique you on what they see. If you can pass their scrutiny, you can be fairly confident that the average John Q Public isn't going to 'make' you. LEOs and children in the checkout line at the supermarket are typically more observant. |
