I took the ACT test not the SAT.

What's the difference?

as for scoring, sat you get penalized 1/4 point for each incorrect guess
ACT you dont get points deducted for wrong answers

ACT has a science section, mostly chemistry and biology

ACT is for people who aren't as strong in math and language, but make up for it in science. It's an alternate SAT basically.

I'm familiar with what "SAT" stands for, but does ACT stand for "Alabamer Correctional Test?"*
It's a joke, guys, but I really don't know what "ACT" stands for.

If you are going to a colllege on the west coast or attend HS there, one would take the SAT.

If you are going to a college in the Midwest, east coast, anywhere else in the USA, you take the ACT.

Since I live in Illinois, I took the ACT junior year of high school, got a 19.

The impression I got was that most of the Ivy league and other first tier schools required the SAT vs the ACT, and most other schools will look at both. Took both along with the SAT IIs only two years ago....don't want to ever do that again.......
