Is that the first place everyone goes when they first start carrying?

My son just turned 21 and got his ccw last week. He calls me to tell me he's at wall mart carrying for the first time

Seems like the majority of people I know that was the first place they went to when they got their ccw.

I went to home depot

It's the assumption if they have a nip slip the unwashed inbreds won't call the cops to SWAT you.

Have you seen the clientele at WALMART?

Trust me, around here, it's the first place you would wish you were carrying.

(Of course, the fact that I sometimes shop there myself puts me in the same category as the rest of the "clientele" I suppose, but that's beside the point. ).

When I was living in Milwaukee I didn't want to go in the local WalMart without a shotgun.

My friends get theirs and make a big deal about carrying the first couple times they do, and then they just stop carrying.  I feel weird leaving the house without my Walther PPS, it's part of my "pre-leaving the room pat down" to make sure I have everything with me.

I do my best to avoid Walmart, even when I'm carrying. My wife and I live in a decent area, and still... Walmart... the people... .

Ask him if the ex-cop security clerk approached and attempt to disarm him.  He should have bladed and shouted, "You will not touch my gun!"    I lurned that ryte heer at GD.

I started carrying everywhere.

WalMart was one of the places I go.

So I can't say I specifically chose Walmart as a place to carry. My house was the first place I technically carried

Tradition. It's like touching the Blarney Stone.

Blading at 45 degrees at Walmart is blading at 45 degrees at Walmart. It's an epic celebration in the CCW world. Ain't nobody gonna touch your weapon.

My first and only open carry was at a Dairy Queen.
Looked pretty badass woofing down a cone with a sidearm.
No one gave a shit.

It's called the "Wal-Mart walk."  Many people that carry for the first time swear that everyone in the world is watching them.  Wally is a good place to go to disprove that theory and be out in the open with a lot of people for the first time.

I took the walk when I got mine.  It was like a right of passage.  I never worried about it since.

Kind of a stupid physie- co- ill - logical thing I guess.

I read the thread title as "whats the deal with going to wal-mart when you get your cow"

I clicked on it expecting to read about taking a fatty on date.

Plenty of cows in WALMART already, without bringing a date to one.
