I'm selling a long gun, and I've never shipped a firearm before.  What are the legal requirements, for both parties?

Take it to UPS...  Have them box it up and ship it out...  That's it.

Just ship it to a FFL and you're good to go.

ETA:  That's what I had to do...  If you have any questions it would probably be better directed to what ever shipper you plan on using.
