Picked one up in a trade of sorts, I'm wondering.

It's in pretty good shape except for a cracked forend.

NOBODY knows anything about a Model 12?

WTF?

What model? Trap, skeet, field, peerless?  Gauge? Choke? Barrel length? Compensator?

Most decent ones will bring 300-400 to the right buyer.

Most of the ones I've seen go for about the same prices SRM quoted.

Unless it's in mint condition for the right collector, not all that much.  I have a couple of beaters that I would like to fix up, but have been put off by the cost of parts.  They are great working shotguns though.  They don't make them like that anymore.

Yup, standard model 12 is about $300-400 (in the 2004 standards - my 2005 edition is on the way :) ). Now if it were a trench gun or skeet grade you'd have something $$$

try finding a Blue book for the specific model you are looking at.  Depending on grade, model, ect, ect.  the price will vary.

If it's a pre-'64 Model 12, it's worth a LOT.  They were, and are, some of the most wanted shotguns in history.

Find out when it was made, then you'll know more.
