Have you considered a used Leupold? They really do stand behind their product whether you are the original owner or not. Due to the area I live in I have seen things happen to scopes and rifles that are hard to believe, I have seen Leupold warranty scopes that went of cliffs( sheep hunting is the ultimate test), have been in bush plane crashes, boat wrecks, fallen out of tree stands and one that a Brown Bear chewed on for a while. I don't think one can afford anything less than at least Leupold quality.
I would have more trust in a clapped out 303 British enfield with good glass than a Dakota Longbow with poor glass.
Look at this as an oppurtunity to escape from Tasco Hell.
