I can't find my glasses right now. Is that a red x or a skull & cross bones? If it's a skull & crossbones I'd definitely say to stay away from it.

Damnit! I wish Hunt101 would get their site working again..... Thats what I get for trying Imagestation.
Any suggestions? |
You got yourself the most dreaded sneaky snake in those parts...Quicker to kill you than the 3-stepper’s we saw back in Nam...
Here in Texas they are known as the dreaded Red X'er... BTW the Red X’er is a distant relative of the Alabama Black Snake... |
Attach it to a drill and run it down the toilet. If it clear up the clog it was a snake.
Maybe this is a juvenile yellow rat snake. As juveniles the pattern looks much like a corn snake. The blotches are replaced by stripes as the snake matures.
Handle with care! I dislike snakes, spiders, and other creepy crawly things......YMMV What do I know, certainly nothing about snakes.....[ |
I agree with M-4gery. Looks just like the pic on the left, but this ones a little dehydrated:

There is plenty of that around this area, well they just arent cubed yet. |

A Corn snake or a Bull snake. Kind of hard to tell with the pic colors although Corn snakes are usually a little more orange.
Think how many varmits would be running rampid without snakes. |

Found this snake over the weekend out in the woods.
And, no we didn't kill it. What kind is it? www.rocketcityrockcrawlers.com/trailpicts/skyline20041003/IMG_0081.jpg_s.htm Thanks, Merlin |
That's one I would not screw with. It kind of looks like a little Copperhead (actually a med sized Copperhead). |
Awww, but it looked so cute! Are you sure it's a copperhead? |
Its all fun and games pretending to be the Croc hunter until.................................
Dont you guys read the warning before the show starts? It says something to the effect of WARNING: DONT TOUCH UNIDENTIFIED SNAKES BECAUSE THEY CAN KILL YOUR DUMB ASS!!! |
Hmmm......I know what it is! Its an easy head shot with a .22!! |
Aww, its so cute. Give it a little pet on the head |
It is absolutely NOT a copperhead. Look at the colors. Look at the head shape. Look at the pupil shape. I'm pretty sure that it's a corn snake. Totally harmless and good to have around. Duh, nevermind. I read the quotes wrong. I thought this was referring to the original snake. The other is hard to tell with the lighting. |

Water snake. HARMLESS.
The 1st snake looks like a juvenile gray rat snake. CRC |

I was going to download the pic and lighten it up, but it is a jpg_s, and I couldn't download it. But I have seen and killed enough of them to know what it is. I still think the first one is a rat snake. If you look at the picture I posted, the markins are identical. The color is darker on the pic I posted, but they vary depending on how long it has been since they have shed. http://www.snakesandfrogs.com/scra/snakes/images/yratjuv.jpg |
