What's your favorite way to carry a pistol? OC or CCW. It doesn't matter, anything goes. This isn't a OC Vs. CCW thread, just what you like best.
For me, my favorite carry position is on my right thigh in a drop-leg holster. Tactical cowboy You? |

Just a bit past 3:00, maybe 3:30.
Straight right 3:00 always seems to be in the way of something or other. Seat belt, butt of 1911 protrudes or hits seat back, etc. Slightly back from that and everything fits together just right. |

Most comfortable = ~4:00 OWB.
Daily carry = ~4:00 IWB in an MTAC. If I could only pick one it would be the latter. |

Quoted: IWB at 3-4 oclock Same here. Or Safepacker, same position, on the motorcycle. |

Right front pocket (CCW) or 3:00 OWB when knocking around in the countryside.

I didn't realize so many people carry at about the same position. I thought exactly 3:00 (9 for lefties) was the accepted standard. Guess I'm not quite as odd as I thought

Right at 3:00 I sometimes hit my elbow, and it print a little more being right on the crest.
I scoot it back to 3:30 or 4 most of the time. |

Mexican carry, appendix position, pointed right at my wiener right thigh. I carried my off-duty pistol, a S&W 6906, that way for years.
Unfortunately, the agency I work for now mandates holsters for off-duty carry. Now my favorite place to carry is the glove compartment. |

OWB @ 3:00 Yup. Although I was just given a Galco Miami classic shoulder rig. I'll try it for a while and see. |

IWB, about 4 o'clock.
I've been thinking about getting a OWB holster for the winter. |

I like Mexican (IWB) because it's quick, I don't have to worry about printing, and I can access the gun with either hand.
I carry at 3:00 (OWB) because it is also quick, and I can access the gun with either hand as well. I used to carry at 4:00 (OWB) when I utilized a Blade-Tech holster (which allowed me to access the gun with my non-shooting hand from the rear), but when I switched to a BHPG Serpa, I couldn't deploy the Level II latch with the non-shooting hand from the rear. Carrying at 3:00 with the Serpa (with a 30 degree cant) allows me easy access to the Level II latch from the front across my abdomen with my non-shooting hand. Try both ways (with an empty gun of course) and see if it works for you. YMMV. |

Concealed, IWB with a Crossbreed or Mtac holster, between 3:00 and 4:00 or so.

OWB @ 4:00, whether CC or OC. Been doing it that way for over 20 years.

Appendix with my J frame
crossdraw 10 o clock heavy cant with the M&P |

10mm Glock over my shoulder in a SafePacker in the wilderness.
.38 special LCR in an ankle holster around town. .380 LCP in my pocket when I wear shorts. I don't IWB or OWB at all but I probably should. |

Roughly 4 o'clock iwb, Milt Sparks VM2 holster is my choice of leather.
Moved to a jacket pocket holster when on the bike. |

Guess I'm not quite as odd as I thought 3:00 puts it right on the bone and causes it to stick out leaving large gaps between the weapon and body as well as bangs into shit. You want to place it into the depression between your hip bone and ass cheek for low profile concealment. |

IWB with a 20-25 degree forward cant, so the rear sight is right on the seam of of my pants and the slide tucks right behind my hip bone.

AIWB with a Sig P228. If you have a proper chest and aren't a fatty, its fast and comfy and invisible. I love it.
