If I'm in a hotel in a bad area, I take my handgun, wrap it with a face towel, and place it by the shower. It's not "right there" but it's close enough.
ETA: Obviously, a Glock would be the ideal carry piece for this application. |

Just take a bubble bath, and keep your gun in the suds but not in the water. When the man you shot years ago comes in on you and starts giving his revenge speech, shoot him then say "When you have to shoot, shoot, don't talk."
