I don't think it's tracer, cause that's orange I think.

Unless it's changed since, I retired yellow indicates high explosive.

Yellow tip means DO NOT SHOOT it in your rifle. This is Dominican Republic ammo that has a nasty reputation for doing bad things to guns. If you have an M2 it should be fine to shoot, but don't take a chance with your rifle.

Its a spotter/tracer round.

At least in AROCKS ammo box it was.

Jeep29 is correct, it is most likely Dominican ammo which is a serious no go. Spotter/Tracer ammo is painted yellow and red and has a little indention on the tip of the bullet. What is the headstamp on the round?

I may be wrong, IM AROCK and ask what his are painted.  There may have been some red on the tip.

Nuke tip.  You can get them at gunshows without a backgroud check for about a buck a-piece.

It's Dominican AP (Yellow Tipped);
One problem with all lots of this ammo is that its dimensions are on the large side, just barely in spec.

Spotter-Tracer is Yellow over Red with a primer seated about 1/8 inch down in the bullet's tip. They are THE most fun to shoot, even better than Blue Tips. They trace right from the barrel and travel relatively slow so you get a nice red streak, white flash, and yellow smoke.
