How do I find what the procurement bids are?

There is no way the government is paying more than 10 cents a round for 5.56.

Where's TRoy?

ETA : I found this so far..

If you know the national stock number then you can punch it into Web Flis and it should tell you how much it costs, but for some reason it is not working with the NSN I have for MK262 from Crane  I have used this site in the past but now it is not working.  It keeps coming up with the 9 digit NIIN instead of searching for the 13 digit NSN.

It does work for the NSN 1005-01-231-0973 which is the M4 and comes up with a price of $587.

I am guessing the DoD pays around 30 cent/round of 5.56

ETA Web Flis is working again so it came up with 3 prices 2 at .53/round and one at .45/round this is for MK 262.

Using this contract to get the NSN for M855 we get 4 hits on web flis from .29 to .37/ round.

Since they own the lake city plant and ATK just operates it under contract, I'd venture a guess that equates to a serious discount...

I asked our supply sergeant a few years ago how much we were paying for 5.56 and it came out to be just over 30 cents a round.  Like I said, this is just what he told me so take it for what it's worth.

What does the U.S. government pay for ammunition?

The government doesn't pay for ANYTHING. We, the people, pay for everything the government has.

They buy in bulk so I wouldnt be surprised if its dirt cheap for them.
