I have thinking for a while, seeing as how he has some valuable goodies on his sleigh for the good kids (even some of the bad one - I have gotten stuff when I was a little bad) and I have never heard of him being robbed.

Seeing as how he is in the same places every year, about the same time with some easily fenced items - I kinda' figured Santa packs.  I am going to assume it is a handgun or SBR/SBS for the close quarters he deals with but I am sure he also has atleast one backup handgun.

My thoughts are:

He's a big guy, so a puny round like a 9mm is out of the question - Has to be a .45.

He has been going this a while and old habits are hard to break - 1911.

He probably has access to all kinds of stuff so would go for some of the best - HK Mk23.

Just wondering - maybe I have a little too much port.

I don't have any children, so his visit to my town will bypass my house.

Santa has a one of a kind custom .45.  Those elves are some first rate gunsmiths.  H&K is crap compared to what they make.

Hmmm - never thought of that.  I am a "unwrap it, load it, shoot it" kind of guy.  But, I agree with you.

Think it has a sound suppressor on it?

I would have to agree that Santa carries some kind of highly customized, fancy-schmancy 1911.

You nailed it dude!!!  The engravings will be Christmas scenes, also.  And instead of plain ole' scalloping on the slide, they'll look like snowflakes.  Hey, SOMEONE NEEDS TO PHOTOSHOP US A SANTA PIMP GUN!!!  PHOTOSHOP ARMY???

Santa is too law-abiding to carry in RKBA-unfriendly locales (and the poor kids in NYC shouldn't suffer just because the local politicians are a$$holes). Instead, his reindeer pack some serious heat... all ex-Delta, SF etc. I hear.

No SEALs though... that would be silly ;-)

Raging Bull 454 Casull, what else?

In case he needs to blow a non-believer into the next grid.

I thought I saw him with a Beretta 92 and a supressor on Mad TV last Saturday night.  "Well April, you've seen me and now I've got to kill you.  Do you want to face the tree or do you want to see it coming?"  [<|:d>]

According to the Southpark "Red Sleigh Down" episode it appears that Santa packs twin AR's or twin G36s.

I don't think santa needs to worry about class 3 restrictions ... 45acp is a good round ... I think he carries a thompson 1928.

edited to add:  highly customized, of course

Santa has been known to carry a Colt single action army.
Recently he's been carring a custom 1911.

His sleigh has an onboard rack mounted Thompson submachinegun.

I'm sure he's got a mini gun on the sleigh.

Hidden by the large bag during publicity photos are two manually traversed M134 miniguns with elves operating them. The lower half of the sleigh is the dual feed drums for the guns and holds 6,000 rounds of 7.62 x 51 each.

When I saw this thread, first thing I thought of was my first job in LE. I worked in the jail at the City PD and part of the job was writing tickets for cars parked in the police parking.
This SS agent always drove a different car but I always tagged him. Was pretty cool about it. Finally started telling me which car was his.
Gave me a Christmas card like that.

i think santa has some side winders on his sleigh in case of some air to air threats. his personal carry is probably one of these(only the elves probably made it work):

Santa definatly packs a .44 mag.

First of all he has got some fat-assed fingers and needs lots of room in the trigger guard. A 1911-type would never work.

Secondly, The man spends 95% of his year in polar bear country. Got to have the big gun for defense.

Thirdly, Santa doesn't play. Try to jack the man's sleigh and he will put you down.

I'm thinking something like this.

...When I was but a small child I always pictured Santa Claus arriving on the roof in his tactical matte black sleigh late at night.
I pictured him fast-roping down the chimney in Nomex to secure the living room with his MP-5SD. The presents weren't really presents - actually eavesdropping material from the CIA to bug the whole house. Meanwhile, elves would offer covering fire from the rooftop when Santa exfiltrated the premises. And those milk and cookies. The milk is actually an GNC energy suppliment that gives Santa unsurpassd energy for late night recons and sobers him up from his "egg nog" binge drinking.

Or maybe I shouldn't wear my tinfoil hat so much.........
