For me, it is Hornady .308 Match 168 Grain Boat Tail Hollow Point, which performs beautifully in my M1A.

I consider it "the Champagne of Commercial .308."

Post your favorite rifle caliber ammunition.

ETA: The bullet launcher in question (when she was new - I've since added a Leupold Scout scope).

CCI Mini Mags. Functions great in all my .22's. It's cheap, comes in convenient boxes, and is readily available.

I only have a .22LR, 5.56/.223, .300 win mag. and recently added .30-06.

Shot the .30-06 recently enough to remember which load it liked the best out of the six I tried and it was plain old Federal 180 gr. Power Shock. About 0.5 moa where the rest were 3/4 to 1 moa. Tikka T3 out of the box.

45-70. Something about the massive projectile really makes me smile.

375 H&H Mag

175 Grain

Nosler Partitions

On top of 75 grains of IMR 4350

This is a great combo in my Rem even if it is a roll your own recipe the bullet is commercial and amazing in performance

Federal Gold Metal Match 168 grn. BTHP in .308. My Savage 10FCP loves it.

In 5.56, I have to go with Privi 69 grn. HPBT. I shoot plenty of Lake City M855. But that Privi works great on coyotes and is cheap.

Was going to post almost exactly that ~20" 10FP shoots them like a laser beam.

Boy do I miss paying $13 per box for those.

My eyesight isn't as good as it used to be. I want as large hole in the target as I can get so I can see it.

Federal Gold Medal Match. I used to buy it at this Gun Shop in Ala entirely occupied by CMP shooters.
My SIG SHR 970 loves it. Only shoot paper with it.

210 grain Speer .41 caliber bullet, over 28 grains of Trail Boss make for a super fun (and super cheap) reduced recoil plinker.

.17HMR or .22LR. The .22 has just been a lot of fun in the 40+ years I have been shooting, and I have burned up countless rounds of ammo for cheap. The .17HMR because its a very accurate round that's a hoot to shoot without breaking the bank.
45/70 is one of my favorites for a centerfire. Touching off my 1873 trapdoor is always fun!

Well right now my newest custom rifle is a 308, so 308 Winchester LC match brass, WW large rifle primers, WW748, under a 168 grain Nosler ballistic tip. I don't remember the last time I bought factory ammo, I hand load everything except CCW ammo. (Except 22lr & 22 Mag of course).

My .308 reloads. Seems to be a common favorite. There is something very cool about tuning your load to your rifle and having both perform better than expectations.
