Inspired by schnacke's magazine rack, I've decided to make a rifle rack for my great-nephew's wedding present.  I've never done woodwork before, but I recently inherited a table saw, milling machine, drill press, jig saw, belt sander, and router, so I'm armed and dangerous!  I'm planning on something to hold about 10 rifles, and I assume he'll put it in his walk-in safe/shelter (about 10'x8') so it won't have to look perfect and it doesn't have to be compact.

Anyone have any thoughts on the design?  I can't think of anything to do other than the classic design of a simple bottom shelf tilted with a top shelf with cut-outs for the barrels.  Anyone have a more clever design?

Wow, those are some nice stands.  Perfect for an AR15 shoot.  Much better than my sawhorse with wooden blocks to divide rifles.  lol.

Thanks.
