| Hi all, I need to get a website built for a new online business I am starting. My budget for the site is initially rather limited, I am mostly trying to get a functional design to show investors and partner companies before tweaking a final layout with advanced graphics, etc. Anyway, I posted the job on elance with a proposal window between $500-$1000. So far, I have had multiple responses, most from overseas designers. I've got Pakistani, Indian, Slovenian, and one American designer. Of those, the post with the best English (aside from the American) was the pakistani designer. He also had the highest rating and portfolio size. Naturally, I would prefer to go with the American, but he has no rating, 0 projects on elance, and limited referrals. Have any of you folks outsourced a project before? Thoughts on where/who I should go with from here? Any tips, tricks, or anything else I need to be aware of? I have never dealt with web design or outsourcing, so any help would definitely be appreciated. |
