So I bought an HP Premium Autofocus Webcam and when I record the sound is way off...

I'm running Vista Platinum and have 4 GB of memory...

My internet is broadband and I have 1.06 Mb/s of download speed & 0.31 Mb/s of upload...

The picture on the webcam is awesome, but the sound is not keeping up.

What do I need to change to get this working properly? Should I be contacting my internet provider to upgrade?

Thanks for the help, fellas!

Sounds like a software problem, not a internet problem.  Are you using the drivers that came with the camera?

It has a built in microphone... will a seperate microphone make that big of a difference?

Yes... at first it keeps up with the video... but the longer I talk the more "off" the sound becomes!

My laptop has one but I haven't used it in years.  There is a setting to get the audio synced up if I remember right.  You may want to look for some kind of audio settings.  Also, may want to try uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers.

Probably. My Grandfather has a Logitech webcam with a built in mic and the audio on it sucked.

Well I uninstalled and reinstalled everything... and it's still doing the same thing.... I guess I'll return to BestBuy and see what they say!
