I read all the TinTin books when I was a kid.

The movie was good.

Amazing how lifelike the animation was.

Hope they continue making the movies, he has a lot of adventures from his books.

I never read the books, but I took the kids to see it when it was in theaters. We enjoyed it, good clean fun.

I have a feeling "Tintin in the Congo" wouldn't go over too well.

Looks like a second and possibly a third one are in the works.

From wiki:

Producer Peter Jackson, whose company Weta Digital provided the computer animation, intends to direct a sequel. Spielberg and Jackson also hope to co-direct a third film.

Pretty much read all the comics as a kid. They also had an animated series.

For once, present day Spielberg didn't disappoint.

I enjoyed the books as a kid, and I felt like it was more of an Indiana Jones movie than that Crystal Skull garbage.

Very enjoyable movie, my kids loved it and enjoy the animated series on Netflix.  I had all the books when I was younger.

Captain Haddock is a riot.  Blistering Barnacles!!!

And the Legionnaires carrying MAS36s. One cool thing about that movie is the wide variety of guns, and they got them all right. That was surprising.

The characters' heads were oversized. Other than that it was pretty good!

Heh.

Seem to recall there was a story a few years back, when they were first thinking of doing the movie.  There was one of the permanently-offended crowd sniveling about how the Tintin comix way back were anti-Semitic or some such drivel.  Well, yeah, moron, the guy was in Belgium during the Nazi period, they probably were!    Sort of like the idiots who whined about Schwartzenegger's dad being a Nazi.  Well, he was in Austria during the '30's, he probably was!  Just like someone in Roooooskiland durning the '50's was probably a Commie.

I liked it.  Saw it in the theater in 3d.  I was tired by the time it was over.
