From a vintage perspective, and this is just me, I tend to leave my watches alone until fully regulating "advance" or "recess" (fast or slow) still will not allow it to keep very close time. Generally moving the balance cock can swing the time by 2-3 minutes a day. Then again, I have a watch that the hairspring is sticking on and it's about 5+ minutes off a day. I'll get to cleaning the spring...eventually. Lol |
