Has any one else seen a sign posted on the ammo display that says "Due to federal guideline, we are not able to sell ammunitions after 6pm" ?  I saw this at my local super walmart, but have never noticed it in any other locations.

never seen that sign; one in my area says "due to high demand we can only sell 6 boxes of ammunition per customer per visit"

Not a Fed rule

My local ghetto walmart won't sell ammo after 10pm (ammo all locked up)

The nicer walmart in a better neighborhood has a sign that says no ammo sales after 10pm but if you jump the counter and take it to the front they'll ring it up

That's probably the latest that they can run a background check... they are probably using it to not sell ammo...

I have never seen that sign...considering there is no such federal "guideline"
Surprisingly, the managers at most walmarts are very accessible. Just ask to sleek to a store manager (not a customer service manager) and ask what the sign is about.

I have seen the 6 box limit, but those have gone away over the last year or so.

Haven't seen it.  That said, about 10yrs ago we had a guy buy a shotgun at the local walmart, with ammo, then proceeded to walk out to the parking lot and shoot his buddy.  It was after 10pm, lol.

Yes, i know there is no federal law, or guideline. Just a walmart in one of the um..."finer" locations of town.  There is no firearms being sold at this location, or pretty much, most of the locations in South Florida.

So much for their store policy.

Their managers seem to frequently mistake policy for federal law.

I bought some 9mm and they asked me if it was for a pistol.  If it wasn't they wouldn't sell it to me.

Assuming you were under the age of 21, then that actually IS federal law, and they did exactly what was required of them by ATF.

Federal regulation my ass...

I bought a few boxes of .45 at 0100 here before.

I saw the "it aint no mo 9mm" indicator in my 2 local walmarts,  NO 9MM AT ALL, same indicator this time last year. Plenty of .40 though.

My local AR-15-type-rifle selling Wal-Mart has sold me ammo at some of the oddest times of the night, no questions asked. There have been times I've purchased hundreds of rounds from them without a blink from the man running the counter. I've never noticed any signs in my store except for sales of firearms, which I can imagine is for background checking reasons.

Picked up 500 rounds of Tula 9mm this morning. All calibers were well stocked and there was a Colt 6920 in the rack for $1097.

I'll check back next weekend to see how well that holds up or if WW can keep their supply up at least around here. We have one store here that seems to keep their ammo shelves pretty well stocked. It's the only local place that I've seen the M855 cans and that just started a few months ago.

I expect the Colt will be gone for sure.

Expect that one to go up again with the coming election.

No.223/5.56 on my last visit as the counter guy said someone had just cleaned out all the they had.
Haven't seen WWB .223 or 5.56 at the local Wally Worlds in ages.

Yeah thats a local thing. Someone just went and printed out some crap statement and stuck it up there. They cant sell here after 10pm and they wont sell you a gun and the ammo at the same time.

I've bought ammo before from Walmart at 10pm.
