This thing is so dangerous! Should be banned for the children.
Loads six shots in under 3 minutes, and fires them all in under 5 seconds!

Ready for deer season. Gonna try a pistol this year.
Well above Maryland minimum requirments for a BP pistol.

1847 Walker Colt 9" barrel
loads were 40 grains of Hodgdon Pyrodex P
.454 cal Hornady lead roundballs

12 shots from 25 yards. 6 sitting with sandbags and 6 standing freehand.
Defenently minute of deer from 25 yards.

You see, in this world there's two kinds of people, my friend: Those with loaded guns and those who dig. You dig.

That's like hunting a deer with a .38 spl snubby.

Similar balistics and accuracy.

ETA: Actually, the 38spl with HP's would probably be better.

MD is anal about cartrage handgun power.
The Walker and the Dragoon are the only PB revolvers than can handle the load required by law.
The Walker with a 9" barrel and a Black Powder 52 grain equivalent charge has been equaled to the 357 magnum in everything I have heard/read.

MD DNR

Handgun Regulations
Modern and muzzleloading handguns may be used to hunt upland game (except dove and woodcock) and forest game (except turkey), woodchuck, fox, coyote, opossum, nutria, fisher, skunk and raccoon. However, modern handguns may be used to hunt deer only in those counties where the use of a breech-loading rifle for deer hunting is permitted with the exception that modern handguns may be used to hunt deer throughout Frederick County. Any modern handgun used for deer hunting must have a barrel length of 6 inches or more and use ammunition which produces a muzzle energy of 700 foot-pounds or more. Muzzleloading handguns (both single shot and revolvers) may be used to hunt deer in all counties. Muzzleloading handguns used for deer hunting must be at least .40 caliber in size with a barrel length of at least 6 inches and use not less than 40 grains of black powder (or a black powder equivalent) and propel one all-lead, lead alloy or copper soft-nosed or expanding bullet or ball at a single discharge. Contact the Maryland State Police for information about handgun purchase, possession, transport and use in non-hunting activities.

You may be right. It's been awhile since I shot my 1860 Army, and it could be that you can load your Walker with larger charges than my 1860 can take.

Most BP revolvers can only shoot a 30 grain charge max. Thats why this revolver weighes 5 pounds.

Just make sure there aren't any flying aircraft or electrical substations nearby when you shoot that thing - it'll be the next gun they'll want to ban.
