If I did that job, I wouldn't even think about getting up there without one.

That is one of the only videos that can actually make my palms and feet sweat.

Didn't even have to click the thread to know what was coming. I guess I can think of worse jobs...maybe.

I had a thread about dangerous civi jobs a while back and this one is the video I posted.
No thanks. Not a chance in hell you would ever catch me up there, not for any paycheck, no matter how big.

Wow, the people who do that must be certifiably insane. Seriously. Fuck that. The climb up is one thing, you can see where you're going. Going down has to be worse. The wind, weather, fuck that.

In the video they said their is no quick or easy way down. (well actually there is, but can only be done once)

With my luck, I would get pushed back into the tower from the wind and just hang there on the side for hours.

Once upon a time, I had to climb a local TV tower to talk down a guy that "wanted" to commit suicide. " A jumper".

This was acutally the second time I had talked him down off of a tower. The first one was a fair amount shorter...  He remembered me, and the fact that everything I told him would happen, if he came down, ie., he would not go to jail, but back to his hospital.

So after a long climb, he had disabled the elevator, and a long talk, he gave himself up, I did have 2 other "cover guys" up there with me, and we climbed down together.

One of the "deals" we made, was that he would again, just have to go back to his hospital not to jail,, and that next time,[ with crazy people there is always a next time], he would pick a tower, NOT in my city...
Both times were at night.

I never saw him again...

That is some crazy shit. Arms like Popeye are a plus for that job.
