My wife and I were talking and vacation came up. We have not taken a real vacation in over four years. Always taking time off to do work around the house or other stupid stuff. I believe it is time to go somewhere and take a break. How long has it been since YOUR last vacation?

'Bout that, maybe a little longer.  I mean, a real vacation-I've been to the beach over three day weekends a couple of times.

I never have enough money to go anywhere for more than a few days.
Not having to work for two weeks is good enough.

Febuary, but before that it was 10 full years.  Sometimes, owning your own business can really suck.

Last real vacation with the wife was in 2001.   I did go to a MG shoot in Norway in 2003, but Mrs cool-e didn't go so I can't count that as a vacation (yeah, right).

1999.

IOW, too freaking long.  This 'use it or lose it' crap is a joke.

Four days!   Before that about 12 years.  My girlfriend and I spent a week in Yellowstone then a day in Cody Wyoming. We went to Devils tower then straight to Custer SD. Spent the rest of our time in and around Surgis. We had a blast! I'm broke now though.

10 YEARS! I feel better now. I do know the feeling of having vacation time but no money to do anything. That is a crappy feeling! I guess I will start planning a trip for the spring maybe sooner, south of the equator is going to be coming into spring. Where did you go on the last vacation?

I have a young daughter and believe that a real vacation is an important family time. We take a week every summer. This year is scheduled for next week!

Does taking a 3-day trip to the vacation house in the Sierras to wield a Jackhammer on some granite boulders in 106F temps, only stopping because the afternoon thundershower got too heavy, count?
