Looking for a good VPN. What do you use and what do you like/dislike about it?

PIA. It works and they supposedly keep "no" logs.

Ipvanish. No logs. 61 per year. Up to 4 connections. Have my brother and parents set up with kodi.

can't find my bookmark for it.  the one I would use was independently tested for very little speed loss and isp addys all over the globe, which would be good too for getting lower prices for plane tickets.  Cheaper in locations with poorer economy.   price was in line. and no logs.

I used StrongVPN mainly because it was the first one I found at the time for a decent price (was $55/yr) that gave me >100mbits and had no logs. They had decent customer support too.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that there is still a DNS leak through a VPN. You can find out if your DNS leaks through a bunch of websites like https://www.dnsleaktest.com/ . I use a program called VPNCheck Pro to take care of that.

I had been considering getting a VPN when I saw this thread.  I signed up for the PIA ($40 a year) service and configured my router to use it, so now I guess all my internet  activity is going through the VPN.

Speed test with VPN enabled was 8Mbps down and 4Mbps up. (a different test said I was doing 9/5Mbps)
With VPN disabled, I get 56Mbps down and 5.5Mbps up. (a different test said I was doing 109/6.15Mbps)

Ping times in a game increased from 60ms to 100ms.

I installed dd-wrt software on my router, so it's easy to enable and disable the VPN service.  I don't play a lot of games, so I will probably leave it enabled most of the time.

Edit.... I just realized that my download speed is probably being limited by the fact that my router is doing all the work.

Thanks for the info. Speed tests definitely matter here.

I generally use Speedtest.net AND speedof.me as they have different testing protocols.

it has worked great for me.

PIA was fine, but for certain types of traffic, it was horribly slow...

no speed issues whatsoever with IPVanish so far.

I can confirm NordVPN works well on censored wifi in Saudi Arabia. Netflix, slacker radio, fox news, arfcom, and pron.

I use TorGuard. I lucked out and got a yearly recurring 50% off coupon. I really have no way of knowing if it's great or not, but I've heard good things about it. They claim to keep no logs, according to a comprehensive survey of popular VPN providers conducted by a website that may not be CoC-compliant.

TorGuard here also no issues.

Friend of mine has PIA but has some speed issues when using Kodi.

Plan on using ipvanish myself when i go full cord-cutter

i've used both for similar reasons.  ipvanish is unquestionably superior for that application.

CL blocks everything from known pia servers.   And I know there are a few other sites that do too.

Otherwise I'm happy with pia.  But I'll probably shop around again when my subscription is up.  Anyone know how to defeat CL's blocked IP list?

Same, and it does fairly well in professional reviews of various services.

PIA. I use it on one of my VMs. It's my "e-dildo" machine. I stick it where I wouldn't want to stick my real e-penis. The PIA client has a setting to disallow network connection unless it is connected through the VPN. I leave that enabled, so nothing can happen on that VM unless it's connected.

this is what I will be getting, after some research.  It was either that or ipvanish.  Neither is reported to keep logs.  PIA is used by several major companies.
