Can the whereabouts of a vehicle be tracked by its VIN?

I'm curious as to where my first car may be, and if I might have a chance to get it back (legally, of course).

If it's a Ford, Lincoln or Mercury, I can run a report on it to see where it was last for any warranty services.

Sorry dude, I don't have any inside lines on Hondas. Carfax would prolly be your best bet.
