I recently upgraded to a Droid and I am having issues when surfing arfcom.

Is there a better way to get a larger font size to fit the screen than to enlarge it, flip the phone back and forth to make it fit without dragging right to left, and then starting all over with each thread?

I don't know if I clearly explained the issue I am having, but there has to be a better way.  Any other mobile site I visit has a larger font that automatically fits the screen.

TIA

Are you using the mobile format?  It works just fine on my droid.

Yep, mobile.

My settings on my phone may be wrong?

Im currently using the regular site on my DROID x. Double tapping the screen automatically formats to readable font size and proper width

The double tap helps.  Thanks.

Quotes don't seem to properly show up on mine though... for some reason quoted text doesn't wrap and starts each page zoomed way the hell out. I have to pinch zoom to get it right if there are any long quotes in a thread.

This.  Or do the two finger pinch to zoom.

Also, you might want to download a better browser from Google Play.  I use Dolphin, which is very good.

Android is the OS.

Droid is a marketing name applied by Verizon to some Android phones.

Any ideas?

I use Opera Mini.  Much faster than any other browser I know of, plus it formats ARFcom perfectly at any zoom level.

It all depends on the browser. The one I have the most luck with is Dolphin HD. Firefox acts more like a real browser, not a mobile version.

Why use the mobile format? The full site works just fine on my galaxy s2

The auto size feature works for me, and I browse the full site, not the light version.
That said, it's not going to be the same as a tablet screen, and certainly not like a proper monitor.

It takes a little getting used to.
I really hate trying to post from the phone...just a pain.

Ok for browsing though

change your browser. opera and dolphin are both really good browsers. when you double tap to zoom they resize text automatically. I consider both a huge improvement over the default browser.

opera works good for me, on my phone anyways.  I tried dolphin and didnt really like it.  It would always snap too close to the text and cut off the the first letter on the left of the collumn.

Close, Droid is licensed to Verizon and Motorola by Lucas arts and designates the Motorola Android powered phones.  You will hear many sales people use Droid as a generic term for all android powered phones but you wont hear other manufactures do that without licenseing.

Droid Bionic, surf with the full (not mobile) version.

Log-in is fine, and I can navigate and read just fine... but when I try to reply, it doesn't bring up the v-keyboard like it does on other sites, no matter what I do.  It gives me a reply box, but no way to input anything other than clicking on a smilie.

So I can read on my phone, but not reply without switching to the mobile version.

Full site works fine for me on my Droid 3.

I used mobile on my Droid Eris and it worked a world better than the full version.
