You should watch it. Pretty damn intense and very believable. It makes you question what you would do...

For those who have seen it, could you do it?

Fan-fucking-tastic movie.  The only catch is that you must must MUST catch the European ending, the US ending is dogshit and changes the whole movie with just a small twist.

To answer your question, I dunno.  That's a lot to ask.  I would however supporting others who would.

Man, where can I find the European ending? It probably ends how I think it ends.

No, just get it & watch it.

Trust me, it's a 5/5 movie, and the less you know about it going in, the better.

I used to work with an Iranian guy who escaped The Shah, and he said the only way to deter Islamic terrorists is to go the unthinkable route. That is, to let them know if they are caught, or killed and their identity is discovered, the unthinkable will happen and if they survived, they will live just long enough to witness it. Then they will get theirs.

But the point is to let them know dead or alive, the unthinkable will happen, and there is no stopping it.

I don't think that would fly here.

LOL, I could say something, but it might get us both in trouble, even if I meant it as a joke.

I think at that level of training, both the people being tortured and the torturer know what it is and what it isn't: It's a method of interrogation and nothing more. It is not personal. Once the emotional aspect is removed, it just comes down to how much pain a human being can take.

I'm against torture EXCEPT in the instance where a WMD is targeted at civilians, and there is irrefutable evidence that the subject in question knows details about the weapon or people who planted the weapon and can provide information that will stop the attack.

I figure people who do that have no humanity and deserve no quarter. So, fuck 'em.

Loved every second of that movie..

I think I said this in a thread before..And I feel bad––but I was rooting for more torture.  I was like bite his testicle off..

When his wife came in I was like SIIHPAPP ..

Ok I repented after I had those thoughts...

I saw it. It didn't make me question anything. The lives of a woman and two children over the lives of potentially millions is a no brainer. As long as I was immune, I would have taken those kids apart piece by piece right in front of him.

Is this a propagand piece? I mean, does the US torture him and find out there is no bomb, showing how torture is wrong?

"The ticking bomb" scenario was often quoted as justification for torture, does this movie show how that justification is wrong?
