NEW ORLEANS -- New Orleans police executed a search warrant Tuesday night that netted two suspects, guns and thousands of dollars in cash.

Augustus Saunders, 45, and Elyse Saunders, 43, were arrested without incident at 8144 Jeannette St. They each face charges of possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, possession of firearms while in possession of a controlled dangerous substance and cultivating narcotics.

Officers who searched the home at 7:15 p.m. seized 129 marijuana plants, 41 individually wrapped bags of marijuana packed for distribution, $10,000 in cash, an assault rifle, a shotgun and three handguns, according to police.

The investigation was handled by members of the Major Case Narcotics Unit and federal Drug Enforcement Agency.
