Can anybody tell me if there is a difference in the glasses they carry and the glasses that would be in the mall. I have been looking at the Half Flak XLJ and they look to be a little bit different than what I have seen in the stores locally!!!  Can anyone confirm that they are different?

As far as I can tell is the one's from US Standard only come in black frames and they're a lot cheaper than the mall.

As far as the design and all they are exactly the same. My Flak Jackets are a matte black and if I am not mistaken the lenses are ANSI impact rated on the USSI glasses.

They only come in black, and there aren't as many Oakley logos on them.

I would only consider glasses in black ha ha, and yes, they are quite a bit cheaper.... 70 bux opposed to 170...

I've got a pair of the SI Flack XLJs, love em.  As far as I know the only difference is, as E5 said, the frames are black, matte black unlike the shiny civvy version.

When the fuck did issue Oakleys change from M Frames?

I've been wearing my Gov't Oaks for 7 years now ( few different pair) and had no clue that they started issuing Half Flaks.
Guess I need to call my buds still in for the hook up.

Yes I like them better.

The Oakley Govt glasses just have the subdued black frame and low luster Oakley logo.   The lenses are the standard impact resistant like the fancier and more colorful glasses for retail.    The pricing is very good for Mil and LE folks.

And the "O" is subdued...not white, orange, etc.

I like the ones on SI better than the ones I have...if mine ever freaking break (they won't die!!) I'll get a pair.

They do have "desert" frames now, too.

Like these guys have said, the standard issue ones have a lower profile. There's also a polarized lens option.
