Are these supposed to be free, last time they wanted to charge me for them. In the end she marked on them "Must pay for" and said I got to pay for them when I ship them. I used the autoship kiosk and sent them that way. |
| I did a custom bullet buy on another board for some Barnes 458 dia bullets...I got 29 flat rate boxes for free, and that was like 3 months ago, the only thing I knew that changed since then was the price used to be 8.10 per flat rate shipped box, now it is closer to 10 bucks flate rate per box. I didnt think they charged for the boxes however, at least I wasnt charged. |

A while back, they started selling more generic shipping supplies in store. I bet this is what you bought (or you were accidently charged the generic white box price for the "free" boxes). I have noticed that they rarely have many of the free Priority Boxes since they started selling the white ones. The Priority Boxes covered with the logo are still free. I just order them from usps.com and they drop it off at my house about a week later. Free shipping too. |
I asked for Flat Rates boxes, they gave me Flat Rate boxes from behind the counter, but wanted to charge |
| A little off topic, does the post office put a special sticker on the box for flat rate? I won an auction on ebay, the seller paid for a flat rate box, but it came in with postage due, the post office said he paid for a flat rate but the box did not recieve a flat rate sticker??? |
They come in 2 sizes, Flat Rate is printed on them |

They receantly changed boxes and yes the boxes are free. To get the flat rate you have to use the new box that says flat rate on it with red stripe. I had a pile of the old FR boxes and they wouldn't honor the flat rate even though it is the same dimension box as the new ones without just " Flat rate " printed on it .
