| Has anyone noticed a slowdown with USPS? I sent someone a letter first class last Monday and they still have not received it. (I am in S FL and they are in VA). |
That's what I was fearing as well. Waiting for a UPS package shipped last friday to show up at my FFL tomorrow (scheduled for wensday delivery) and have a feeling it maynot get there before he closes . Meaning a delivery this friday at the earliest due to Thanksgiving. I've tracked it and they really nickle and dime it all the way. |
![]() Don't worry, it'll get there provided it didn't get routed improperly...you dont have bad handwriting by chance, do you? Once I got a letter with a check inside. Went to open it, but it wasn't my name. Thru the window I could tell it was over 3,000 dollars. Right company name, address, and city. WRONG STATE. I googled the business, told them what happened, and that the check was going back to the PO. They said they were expecting a check from the mailer and were really glad to hear from me. It was a once in a lifetime conincidence that the company names were almost an exact match. About two weeks later that company sent me a free calendar.

No, it's not. "Priority" is not guaranteed, I found this out the hard way when I bought something from a member here (albeit a long time ago) and accused him of being a thief when it didn't arrive in three days. I called the post office, and was told priority isn't guaranteed, and it even says so on the banners and such. Yeah, I felt like a winner after that and tried to apologize profusely - it was actually worse that he was nice about it because it made me feel like more of a dick. The mail is slow because it is the holiday season. Millions more pieces of mail are in the system now. All the common carriers are busy as hell too. Mail your bills a couple days earlier! ETA: Priority mail can take up to two weeks, as per USPS, and even longer sometimes. If it weighs less than 13oz. I mail it first class. More than that, and they force you to use "Priority". |
