I sent about $2K worth of parts out to be machined. They were machined, all done and life was good. On the return trip the damn box vanashed, POOF, gone, hasn't been scanned since the 20th. This was my grail gun build. I am devastated...
Update #1. (3/16/18) One month still missing, no calls, emails, communication, nothing Update #2. (4/16/18) Two months still missing. Still absolutely nothing from usps... Update #3. (5/16/18) three months still missing. Insurance claim denied. Literally nothing from usps. |

Anybody ever file a claim with USPS for an insured package? Interested to hear your experiences. I currently have a PVS14 that is out to a service outfit via USPS insured and two days in a row it has showed "delivery attempt - unable to access delivery location" trying to get to the service outfit... yet they haven't left any notes at the shop to say they tried to deliver. No idea why they would be doing that. Makes me very nervous. |

I wouldn't lose faith. I buy/sell a lot and as of the past couple weeks its been increasingly bad. I am at a 100% rate of USPS delaying packages both incoming and outgoing (some with and some without scans). I had one go as long as THREE MONTHS without a scan then magically was back in the system and delivered.
I think you just hit some bad timing with USPS. I am not using them for at least a month until their new trend clears up. If I was you I would be pissed but not worried. It will show up. |

My co ships approx 100 packages a month thru USPS...as of last month , maybe a bit longer, they have been having melt downs left & right and tracking can be seriously jacked up. I know this is no comfort, but you're not alone, I have stuff that was sent & to be received at my shop, that show tracking everywhere but where they were supposed to be. A recent order shipped to Canada (north of my pos, by a few hundred miles, showed tracking south to Calif, then east to Kansas..I kid you not)
Your package may well may turn up at some point, with little or no warning/updates on the tracking, that happens alot lately. I have had some luck, physically going to the post office, speaking with the post master and requesting a "trace", this does two things, the most important of which, will live-que up the tracking on that parcel, so it will (should) show where it currently is in the system (last depot hit, etc). Its not 100% successful, but it has helped us in the past, retrieve/locate missing parcels. FWIW, anything over a few hundred $$, we always send fedex, fully insured, with del. signature..have never had an issue them thus far. I also know, ground packages are handled much differently than air/next day air, etc...as in, ground gets the shit treatment. USPS & UPS - umm, sadly, both suck. Good luck brother. |

Hell, I was tracking a package that I sent back home to Hawaii and it wound up in Oregon and it go re-route to the correct address. Still, I have no idea how USPS screwed that one up.
Sucks on your package being lost. I would love to see how your build would have gone. |
