Anyone here into UFC?
Anyone watch the Shamrock-Ortiz fight?
To all of us who watched it here we all agree that it looked like Shamrock was not even trying to fight. He would stand there and let Ortiz hit him with everything he had yet Shamrock still didn't get knocked out. Then when Shamrock actually threw a punch he hit Ortiz one time and knocked him down but did Shamrock advance and take the opportunity to finish it? No he stepped back and let Ortiz get up. Every time Ortiz had Shamrock down he was giving Shamrock a beating but once Shamrock got tired of it he easily threw Ortiz off of him and sprung up to his feet just to stand there and take more of a beating. We all wonder if either 1. The powers that be wanted Shamrock to sort of "pass the torch" on to Ortiz or if myabe 2. This is setting up the mother of all rematches? Dont get me wrong I am a huge Ortiz fan as well but I am just saying that to me it din't look like it was a real out and out fight.

I think TrojanFan was talking about the Ken Shamrock/Tito Ortiz not the Frank/Tito fight.

Yes, I use to watch the UFC's but I stopped once the all rules kept being added.  It started getting close to resembling WWE.

That fight was on quite a while ago wasn't it?  The last UFC I saw was the one featuring the "Return of Tank Abbott" where Tank tapped from a toe hold a minute into the first.

Did you guys see the documetary "The Smashing Machine" on HBO?  Holy shit was that good!

Yes, I was talking about the Ken-Tito Fight.
Althought the Frank-Tito fight was damn good!
My wife is a huge Tank fan.
She loves watching him pummel people.
Trust me UFC even with the rules they have now is no where close to WWE stuff.

I still watch the UFC's, but I think that Pride is a better organization. UFC is having trouble keeping their best fighters. Bustamante, the middle weight champ, was screwed over by Zuffa and took off, and the heavyweight division is now a total joke. Tito is the only real draw they still have. I was pissed that Tank lost to a toe hold! He's definitely the most entertaining personality.

If you like UFC you should check out Pride FC. When UFC got the shaft Pride recruited most of their top names. Mark Kerr, Vitor Belfot, Wanderlei Silva, Mark Coleman, The Gracies etc.

IUlaw and Agcsy are right on. UFC is garbage. All the additional rules are destroying the sport. There was a thread on the same subject just a couple of months ago the day of the ken/tito fight. The whole cage thing is killing UFC/Gladiators Challenge/King of the Cage because it favors the ground and pound style of fighting. Just press a guy against the fence and pound away. That is total and complete crap. It sucks and is boring to watch. The only UFC fight that has me remotely interested in Chuck Lidell vs. Tito Ortiz. For me to watch NHB it has to  be Pride or Vale Tudo.
