Was late season Hunting on Fri Afternoon ( Muzzle Loader). Hit the woods at 1230pm. Light Snow on the ground so I decided to sit at my usual spot for 45 mins, then still hunt. Hill after hill, valley after valley, nothing. The day was growing old and the sun was setting, so I logically started to head back towards my truck. I was deep, but fairly comfortable where I was. As I start to head out, I see a guy in the distance, maybe 30-40 yards away on middle of hill. It's a game warden and I know what to expect... License etc...
I start walking towards him and as I look down to see my footing and look back up, he's not there anymore. Oh well, I head back to my truck as it's getting late and dark... Get to the parking lot , I see the game warden sitting in his truck , next to my truck. I prepare and take out my license, rifle already has primer out... He gets out chit chats ask for license etc, did you see anything... yada yada yay. As we are talking I asked him if he was looking for me earlier or just happened to stumble onto me in the woods? He said, I wasn't in the woods, I been here parked for the last 1/2 hr. Then is dawned on me it wasn't him. I said perhaps a co worker? He said nope, only one on shift in this area. I explained that there was Definitely another officer in the woods. Warden asked me what he looked like etc... I describe him... In hindsight, the warden paid particular attention to my description, odd like. Well, he looks over my info and jots my information on a pad. He then asked me for my phone number (odd in hindsight) and goes his way. I get into my truck, start it up, grab a smoke and turn on the radio look at the clock and it's 2:45 pm!!!!!! To myself I was like WTF, it was getting dark out and was thinking to myself why the fuck did I leave the woods? Oh well, Hunted entire day before, i'm beat I suppose. I drove home end of story... Today, at 130pm my cell rings, it's warden so and so, he wants to meet me?!!!!!? I ask why, he explains nothing official, just wants to run something by me... We agree to meet at a dunkin donuts, I live in his work zone and he also lives a town over from me... Well we meet, I pull in and he is already there. Gets out of truck and walks in to get a coffee with me carrying a black binder thing. We sit down, he opens up his binder and he starts pulling pictures out... asks me if any of the people resemble the warden I seen in the woods? My mind is racing... i'm thinking oh shit is there a serial killer imposter out there, wtf is going on... He pulls out about 6-7 photos and BAM, there is the guy I seen in the woods. I point it out... He looks straight at me and goes... Are you sure... I say yes positive... Naturally, I start asking wtf, should I be concerned etc... What happened
He looks up at me and said... that is Warden so and so, he's no longer with us... He passed away last year

Who was the member here who made the female ghost disappear and stop haunting his house by pulling down his pants and rubbing one out? Swindle? I think.. I can't remember. This ghost warden is good, too. We need a new Creepy Thread. Just saw the current one |
| One day when i was 14, my dad and i were out hunting, when all of the sudden i get this strange feeling like someone is with us, a bit behind dad. I very carefully turned to look and a ways behind dad was a sight i will never forget. there was a shadowy figure of a man who seemed so familiar, but i couldn't seem to place who he was at the time it wasn't a threatening or scary sight, it was peaceful, almost caring. A while later i got ahold of a few old family photo albums, and i saw him again, it turns out the shadowy figure i saw that day was my grandfather that died 13 and a half years earlier. |

Yea we spoke for a spell... when I mentioned another officer, it peaked his curiosity and when I explained what he looked like, he himself was " creeped " out... i didn't know it at the time. Fact is I have another week of muzzle season and I'm not going back there.. way too creepy for my liking... right down to the part of losing track of time... just too much for me. Quoted:

Is this forreal? That is weird as shit, but very cool. Surely the conversation went on past "he died". What else was said? Why would the guy automatically assume that you saw a ghost? This just went from weird to bizarre. Grumple is channeling the OP |

Good story, I work with some game wardens that get off on stalking the hunters while they are in the deer woods looking for outlaws. Typically they save that treatment for someone they get tipped off on, but I've never thought it was kosher.
Only a matter of time before they are involved in a hunting accident. |

| Me and my partner laughed about this all day. I was wondering how long it was going to take OP to see me out there in the woods, I must have waited 15 minutes or so until he finally noticed me. I am shocked he didn't see me hiding behind a deadfall. He came within 20 feet of me when he was leaving. |
