LOS ANGELES (AP) Police have arrested a Northridge man allegedly high on methamphetamines when he went on a crime spree yesterday that injured three people.
The violence began when 36-year-old Scott Kelly swung a machete and sliced up a man's arm after they argued in front of an apartment building.
Police say he sliced off part of the scalp of another man who came to the first victim's aid.
Kelly then attacked a man working on a pickup truck, injuring his arms, then drove off in the truck and crashed it into a business that specializes in race cars.
Owners of the business closed their parking lot gate and trapped Kelly inside, where he allegedly vandalized several race cars.
He was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, carjacking and causing $5,000 worth of damage.
