Man Arrested In Machete Attack

Allegedly Went On Crime Spree While High On Methamphetamines

Aug 19, 2005 8:03 am US/Pacific
LOS ANGELES (AP) Police have arrested a Northridge man allegedly high on methamphetamines when he went on a crime spree yesterday that injured three people.

The violence began when 36-year-old Scott Kelly swung a machete and sliced up a man's arm after they argued in front of an apartment building.

Police say he sliced off part of the scalp of another man who came to the first victim's aid.

Kelly then attacked a man working on a pickup truck, injuring his arms, then drove off in the truck and crashed it into a business that specializes in race cars.

Owners of the business closed their parking lot gate and trapped Kelly inside, where he allegedly vandalized several race cars.

He was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, carjacking and causing $5,000 worth of damage.

Too bad he didn't die.

Too bad our government won't focus on meth and the southern border illegal immigrant-drug connection. Around here there have been three megalabs busted, all run by illegals.

Instead the DEA prides themselves on going after marijuana activists in CA and seed distributors in Canada. hey
The Bush administration also reduced the amount of LE dollars going to local jurisdicitons to fight drug crime.

Gotta love how my tax dollars are spent.

Dont be a hypocrite. Both drugs are illegal, neither should be.

There are realities, and there are priorities. Acknowledging such does not make one a hypocrite.

Wouldn't mind it a bit, schools are using Ritalin waaay too much anyway! As for Adderall and "Go Fast" pills, don't know enough about them to comment.

80% of the meth on the street comes from Mexico.

Why is it whenever the topic of drugs come up there's always some people bringing up marijuana and how it should be legalized.

It's been said many times but we need to take action against Mexico.

Not arguing your point as valid or invalid, but just need to make one correction...

not one school in our country "uses" Ritalin. Children who have ADD/ADHD diagnosed by a physician "use" Ritalin. The schools just dispense it via the nurse, they can't diagnose ADD nor prescribe medication.

Those are all made in a lab, by people who know what they are doing and with ingredients that are safe. And they are prescribed by trained medical people who prescribe them in a manner safe for human use.

Meth is made in basements and outhouses by idiots who use Drano and battery acid and all sorts of other shit in the process. They are not professionals. And the people who use it certainly don't follow any safe practices such as following a physican's guidelines.

Big difference.

I stand corrected, however, the schools do FORCE parents into having their children tested, and not allowing them back until they are on Ritalin!(at least around here)

Ugh...I'm sorry it's that way. Seems unethical to me.

Teachers and school nurses routinely encourage the parents of "disruptive" children to medicate those kids with ADD/ADHD meds. If the parents refuse to take the child to a pill pushing doc, the teachers have gone as far as referring social services stating the parents are not treating the diruptive childs "illness."

I heard on the radio yesterday that Mexico imports more than double the amount of pseudoephedrine that a population that size needs. Anyone think they may be cooking up a little crank? Ya think?
