But, I wish he would go away.

He says that now. But the moment Trump loses, that new VP will be immediately thrown under the bus.

At this point I can't imagine a lot of people wanting to step up.

It's like "Hey, lets be roommates. I know my other 12 past roommates all say the exact same negative things about me and I've praised them one minute and thrown them under the bus the very next, but this time will be different, I just know how to pick people."

Both are horrible candidates who deserve each other. At least someone decent wouldn't get his career ruined by Trump if she is the pick. The notion of such a GOP ticket makes me wretch, though.

Both a Presidential candidate and a VP candidate can't get electoral votes from a state if they're both residents of that state, according to the 12th Amendment.  Assuming a theoretical Trump/DeSantis ticket wins Florida (pretty likely), presumably the Florida electors would vote for President instead of VP.  Then assuming Trump wins in the electoral college but the margin of victory is less than Florida's 30 votes, DeSantis wouldn't get a majority of electors to become VP and the VP election would then get sent to the Senate.  The Dems will almost certainly still control the Senate, and would vote for whomever the Dem VP candidate is (presumably Harris).

I don't think anyone anywhere wants a Trump/Harris administration.

Tim Scott or Kristi Noem for VP in that order.

VR gets a cabinet position.

DeSantis needs to finish out his gubernatorial term and plan for 2028.  If there is a suitable cabinet position open after his term, it might be beneficial for a 2028 run.

I can't believe no one has picked what would be a grand slam: Kid Rock.

Say what you will, but dude can get a crowd moving.  And he's salt of the earth  - people appreciate that and he definitely has no political ambitions so that makes him even more trustworthy.

Deerp.

Neither are lifelong democrats and in fact, Lake was a lifelong Republican save for a period of 6 years she was registered as an independent for 2 years and then a Democrat for 4 years before re-registering as a Republican again in after 2012

Tulsi is an interesting choice. Firstly... No, I don't trust her.  She's seemingly been "red pilled", but has she?  Really?  She certainly got fucked over by the Dems... and she's been SAYING some of the right things.... But saying and doing are two different things.
OTOH, she's military (without the obsession for new wars), female, pulls in a demographic that Trump doesn't.....

Shit.... I'm going crosseyed playing 4D chess ..

Eh, I don’t know about that. A lot of the foreverTrumpers never voted before 2016 and only show up to vote Trump. If he wins this time he can’t run again and all the slack jaws will go home and stop voting. If he loses again expect 4 more years of stop the steal and MuH uniparty conspiracy.

Given Trump's age and how much visceral hatred there is for him in the enemy (as well as psuedo conservative camp),...always good to have a reliable backup...especially living in political "Hurricane Alley"...

For similar reason it won't be Noem. She doesn't bring enough votes with her.

Tim Scott has a chance. Kari Lake may.

It is usually someone who can pull a win in a swing state.
