1st trivia: Imagine you have 8 tennis balls; 7 weigh the same and only 1 weighs more. Using only a balance scale, how do you find the heavier ball in only two steps?

place three on each side.

IF they are equal, you know one of the two remaining is the heavy one.

so test the remaining two.

If the two sets of three are not equal, take the heavy trio, and balance two of them, if they are equal, it is the one you left out,

Put 3 balls on each scale. There are two possible results: one side heavier, or both sides the same. If one side is heavier, pick any tow balls from that set. There are two possible results: one side heavier, both the same. If one side heavier, that's the heavy ball. If both the same, the third ball is the heavier one.

If both sets of three weighed the same, the heavier ball is one of the two left out of the original weighing. Just weigh them to figure out which one.

That is not trivia, it is simple logic.
