The x went and traded her perfectly good Jimmy in on a new 99 Firebird on the sly. She proceded to bash in the front end on every parking space she came up on. RE-painted twice. She got 2 speeding tickets. The oldest daughter got a speeding ticket in it the first time she drove it. The youngest daughter just got her D.L. and the first time she talked her mom into driving it SHE got a speeding ticket! I traded it in THAT DAY on a 1998 Olds 98 Black 4 door. Looked like a funeral homes car. No more tickets as noone wanted to drive it![:D] The Firebird was a cool car though but was an accident looking to happen cause it would go real fast and made out of plastic!

Yank the motor and install it on a go-kart or maybe even a lawnmower.

Had mine for six years(TA). Fast, stable, predictable safe handling, and as reliable as a GM truck. Just too bad it did not say DODGE.

Looks like a V6, now upgrade to a Trans Am or a Formula with a V8.  World of difference...

Why would i want a underpowered Rustang?

Chevys Trailblazer has a 285 HP v6
Fords Mustang GT 265 V8

I call that embarrasing.

Z28/SS is the planned upgrade.

you do have to learn the hood is long on these buggers. and low to. most hits you hear while driving are the airdam under the vehical scraping the ground.

Glad to hear you made out!  Its amazing the progress that has been made with modern design and construction. What was the airbag experience like.  Do you wear glasses?  I am always afraid what they would do to someone wearing a pair.
12/15/2002 7:44:55 PM EDT
[#34]
the airbag experience is rather non-existant. at that point the ONLY thing you are thinking is "STOP CAR! STOP DAMMIT" No, i don't wear glasses. I did have my cellphone in my pocket. i did have a bruise where the cellphones edge was mashed into my chest. minor worry, vanished in a few days.

You want horsepower?   How about comfort and style, too?

You can have all three at once.  Take the insurance money and buy the newest used Cadillac Seville STS you can land in your price range.  300 horsepower and comfort to beat the band.

It's really a no brainer.

Heck, even the Cadillac DeVille has the Northstar engine and it has plenty of get up and go.  From '94 to '96, the Deville Concours edition has the 300 HP motor and the stock DeVille comes with the 275 HP version.  But starting in '97, they ALL have the 300 HP version.
