Right on. My gf just bought a cherokee, not the traikhawk though. Too spendy for a 21 year old. We got this one on the cheap I think. We had a Cherokee then the SO for a job that requires her to drive 50 miles a day. We traded the jeep on a vwTDI and now she is making bank on that bastard and only drives 2 miles a day. Time for the jeep again. |

How bout this one? http://hanabi.autoweek.com/sites/default/files/styles/gen-1200-675/public/jeep-1.jpg?itok=MZJ9qjy- We looked at those but never drove one. I didn't like that a 6 cylinder wasn't an option. The trailhawk packages are really nice though no matter what you get. They had. Grand Cherokee trailhawk at the dealer but it was way too expensive. |

Time for the jeep again. We got the 4cyl model for 25k. It's a dark red with all black trim on the grill and emblems, with black wheels as well. I think it looks sharp. |

We gave 34.5k for this one otd. The dealer in the Dalles is the best probably only took 15 minutes for the paperwork and they had it washed and fueled for her by 10 |

We sat in the dealership for 5 hours
I'm assuming that's with the 3k rebate jeep is doing this month? |

As far as Chrysler stuff lasting...
I don't believe it! Toyota truck never replaced anything in 8 years, until framed rotted :( Just bought the 100k mileage, one-owner '99 Jeep XJ for cheap(ish) in May. Three switches, axle shaft U-joints, leaf packs all shot within the summer just towing Jon boat. Ha, knew what I was in for. Still love it! |
|
Got mine last December. Love it. Getting around 30+ on the highway, 22 in the city. V-6 makes all the difference. Test drove one with the 4 cyl. It sucked rocks.
Things I like so far: - Surprisingly comfortable for the small size of the vehicle. - Adaptive Cruise Control. Had to tweak how far out it looked but once I did that, it's been fantastic. - Accidentally got into a muddy spot in a farmers field, rooster tails of mud off the tires, had no problem getting thru it. - Vented/Heated seats. Is great to cool the seat in the summer and heat the cold-ass leather in the winter. - Hands-free voice recognition interface to my phone. - Acceleration getting on the freeway is acceptably crisp. - Blind spot warning arrows on the side mirrors. - Self dimming rear-view mirror so I don't go blind at night. - Kewl Jeep accessories. Like a cargo bed liner that's removable. And a recovery kit, a first aid kit, a tool kit, and some other stuff I can't remember. Things I don't like so far: - Lane sense is a little wonky. I have to remember to use my turn signal just to use an off-ramp or it tries to fight me. - Windshield is not very durable. Small rock strike caused huge crack that kept creeping. Had to have the thing replaced. Then, I had to have the lane-sense camera re-calibrated, which is a 3 hour job. - Proximity alert is sometimes stupid. If I pull in to a parking place and get close to a tree, it beeps. That's fine, that's why I expect it to do. When I return and go to back up, it is still yelling at me about the obstacle in front of me when I'm in reverse. - Sometimes, when I punch it to get on the freeway, the 99 speed transmission pops down 87 gears and the RPMs go to 5-6k in a heartbeat. Aren't going anywhere, just spooling up the engine. If it were a student project, I'd say "needs work". - Was pricey. I wonder how well all the computerized stuff is going to fare over the long haul. My 2000 Dodge Dakota has 330k miles on it. I can only remember one time when a critical sensor failed that left me completely stranded. The new Jeep probably has numerous "critical" sensors. We'll see. |

Nice looking rig.
I loved my lifted XJ. Went everywhere and never complained. Sold at @ 230k miles. Hated our Jeep Liberty. Biggest POS ever. Even in 4wd it would get stuck on a flat street. That car burned me on owning Jeep products. I have ridden in two clients new Jeep Cherokees. One eco diesel and one gasser. Nice rigs but I am on the fence about owning one. We will see how they fare. Best of luck with yours. |
