Can anyone confirm that this software can be used to program a new keyless FOB for a Toyota?
Dealer wants $186 for the FOB and $110 to program, another $110 if I want the key insert. $426 for a spare key!!!! Used to be about $3. |

Do you have two keys? My Jeep will program a third key by itself if I use the two ones I have. I'm tempted to do it because the Chrysler dealership also charges a fortune for a spare key if they have to program it. It's absurd.
Maybe your Toyota also does it and you would only have to buy a key. |

Techstream absolutely can program a new key. Question is, can the Chinese knock off cable do it?
It doesn't have the correct pin out to flash any modules, and at least with my vehicle, it cannot reprogram the immobilizer to add the OEM remote start system. I had to bring it to a shop with a Mongoose cable to do that. I suspect adding a key will be similar. Works great for reading all diagnostic data, resetting code, inputting new TPMS sensors, etc. |
