Yeah, I know. Try to answer this one seriously since I'm asking about personal preference rather than which is "best". I'm watching The Green Berets. Everyone likes SF, right? This is a firearms forum at least, and it would seem to be the case. So this brings up the question: Working under the assumption that you could make it through the training program and perform well in the environment, and based on what you know right now about the unit (which means basing your guess off honest misinformation is acceptable) which military unit would you prefer to be a member of? Please provide reasoning. Here are your choices: Special Forces ODA SEAL platoon Ranger Company The Marine Corps element that is now part of SOCOM (I'm not sure on the unit's structure). You unbathed foreigners can add your own favorite unit. Yeah, I didn't add the Air Force guys and I've probably left your favorite out. Add it if you choose |

+1, no shit, give it a rest already. First sentence of the original post is "answer this one seriously" maybe he wants to have an intelligent discussion. ETA: I would pick the Rangers, because of their history, and from what I hear about the type of training they have in Ranger school. I know a couple guys that went through and what they learned was very valuable to them, and they felt it prepared them to meet any situation they could possibly come across in their duties. I know very little about the SEALS, Special Forces, or USMC/SOCOM so I pick Rangers. See, that wasn't so hard, was it? |
