Anybody else an NYPD one shot one kill?

I got no problem with that first one. Animal control guy probably thought he waited a little too long, though.

if the dog catcher did not s*** his pants from nearly getting attacked by the dogs, I'm sure he s*** his pants whenever the dog
Was shot off him inches away, that was pretty close, I would not be surprised if he caught some buck shot himself

My former agency wasn't allowed to use buckshot for vicious animal kills.  Most likely a slug.

Damn. That was a close shot! If the animal control dude would have jigged instead of jiving, wow! Good shoot nonetheless

Looked like the officer on the right damn near shot his partner.

ETA:

NM, looks like it was just smoke from the first shot. Thought it was a ricochet on the concrete from his partner.

I love dogs.  I hate to see animals shot when if the owners had taken better care.
That being said, both shoots were good, IMHO, and great restraint shown by the officers.
The second one was sad, b/c the dog was trying to protect his incapacitated owner; however, human life outweighs that of an animals, and if medical attention is necessary, appears necessary, etc.

I think they were both good shoots, especially the first one. Both were risky. The first one the AC guy was REAL close. The second one was also risky because of all the people and the concrete and the danger from a ricochet. I think on the 2nd one I woulda just tried to kick the shit out of the dog, but I am not a Monday morning quarterback.

Funny thing about this breed and the people who own them.... I never read stories about an officer having to shoot the family labrador.

Sad for the animal, but I see no issues in either video.

Good shoot, amazing how fast they run to the porch when one goes down. I like dogs, and have several friends that own pit bulls that are friendly, but some scum bags train them as attack dogs for their drug houses because they can't own guns and makes the who breed look bad.

It looked like the second NYPD Officer who shot did so to end the pain and suffering of the first shot.
