Isn't that bill from that paranoid ron paul? Why does he keep wasting taxpayer money by pushing things that are detrimental to global peace and tranquility?

He should do something worthwhile like supporting the Kyoto Protocols, which will benefit all of mankind.

I have to agree with Imbgo on this one.  WOuldn't his time be better spent helping the lives of others instead of worrying about the UN.  The UN is our friend guys, surely you must see that.  Don't forget June 8th guys, it's for the children.  (bitting lower lip) [smoke]

I agree with him.  I don't care for the UN.  They maybe out to help people and so is the US but they run things different.  Just because we belive in some of the same things doesn't mean we need to be bed buddies so to speak.

This might be worthwhile if ther was anything that mattered in the bill, but there isn't.  For example, jsut some quick observations:
#1.  Lawfully ratified by whom, and what does it matter?  The UN has no power over anything we (the U.S.) do unless we agree to it.
#2.  The UN cannot take away the power to declare war or any congressional powers granted by the Constitution.
3.  Of ocurse not, and that fact is obvious as we haven't paid a lot of dues.  We pay them voluntarily and can quit at any time.

Basically it is like so many other bills presented these days--much to do about nothing, and full of hot air.

The UN just wants world democracy and seeing that we already live in a democracy here in the U.S., what is the problem?

What is wrong with a democracy? I am sure it must be better than a "republic" since there are so many on this forum who fought in support of and still defend the UN's agenda.
