I have seen the bad guys pick up a K9 and slam it on the ground like a rag doll. They aint all that.
That being said I dont think I could do what they did and wouldnt want to try. |

a properly worked k-9 will not give up..it should be worked thru fighting and tossing..
of course..they bite and latch on..till the command to out is given so, anyone who gets a k-9 off of them is probably going to be missing flesh... bad guys do fight with them....but it usually only makes matters far worse for them... and any k-9 officer worth their weight is going to give the dog a "freebie" after its said and done. the power of a properly trained k-9 and how it attacks is simply awesome..90-120lbs of muscle, bone and teeth. i love hearing the words.. police k-9, come out with your hands above your head or i'll send in the dog. the dog will bite you if he comes in there.. of course..the dog was already sent in before those words were spoken...LoL. |

I fought a White Shepherd and won. But it wasn't easy, and my fingers still have lots of scars to show for it. I basically grabbed his collar and started spinning in circles, swinging him around in the air, then into a tree, a clothes line pole, and eventually down onto a chain link fence. By hanging onto his collar, he wasn't really able to bite me as much. I was punching him in the snout, and in his mouth to choke him. He was going for my neck, when he started attacking. I honestly thought I was going to die.

True story...
Our K-9 handler brought in a beligerent drunk one night for incarceration. Charges were assault, resisting arrest, public intoxication. disorderly conduct... ... well you get the picture. After much effort I was able, with the help of a couple of other officers, to get him secured into a receiving cell. Once he was secured, the guys says "I could take that f*ck*ng dog, easy!" (They always get brave once they know there's a steel barrier to protect them.) I looked straight at him and said "Well maybe so, but think about this: if you're wrong and don't take him, you will NEVER FUCK AGAIN!" The perp looked at me kinda funny, got a concerned look on his face, hand checked his "package", laid down and passed out. Never heard another word out of him for the rest of the shift. |

About 10-12 years ago, I worked for a small petfood company. Trust me, it was much worse than it sounds. Well, we are in Lubbock putting on a "pet fair." One of the guys giving a demonstration has a schutzhund. I volunteered to put on the padded suit and have the dog attack me.
Even though I was in a very thick (and extremely hot) burlap-covered, padded suit, I though I had my right cheek in a frigging vise and someone was trying to torque it tighter and tighter. From that day forward, I have made it a point of not pissing ANY dog off. They are damn sure better at being dogs than I am at being tough. |
