People think I'm a creeper when I drive mine, but that just adds to my scary reputation so I'm fine with it.

Passenger vans have insulation and are more comfortable. You can tint the windows.

if you want a van then I think you should get a van
don't close off potentials because of what others think who knows, you could be the guy that brings vans back I like vans, they hold stuff. I just can't justify the purchase to myself and that's probably because I don't like vans as much as you do just be yourself little buddy, it'll be fine |

Had two Dodge conversion vans - only trouble with them is that they were Dodge vans. I loved them - very versatile, and waaay more room than my truck. When ice fishing, it was awesome to pack everything I owned into it. They kept the kids separate for long trips, and I could haul sheets of plywood if I needed to.
Loved the Conversion vans - wished they had 4WD, sad that they were Chrysler products and fell apart far too early. |

Want to do a 86 or so gm 4x4 with a 6.2 and upgrade to a cucv front and rear along with transfer case. Pretty cool and light use off-road worthy.

They're a good idea if you want to haul alot of stuff and keep it out of the elements. But I would want it to be more than a street cruiser.
If I was going to buy a van it would be something heavy duty and possibly 4X4. That way it could also be used as a bug out vehicle for you and the family, plus gear. Look for one that's used but not abused, that way you can save some money over buying new. Add a trailer hitch to it and now you can haul even more, plus if you hook up a camper you'll have a place to live on wheels. |

They can actually be pretty cool, and I have heard and seen some sexy vans in my lifetime.

There are some neat vans out there. I'd like to have a van done in the spirit of the A-Team van but not a replica.

I have a 2006 Ford E350 6.0L Powerstroke extended cargo van. It was a third the cost of the F350 Powerstroke and has a higher load capacity.
It can fit a lot of stuff, but it is ugly and slow and not much will make it look any better. |

Dmac,
Yeah, that is what I would like to have. Bug out vehicle that can actually bug out, you can live in and be highly mobile. |

Love the van porn.
The wife has told me that if I buy a van I have to live in it. My mother agreed with her. |

Vans are where its at.
very utilitarian. no more tarps and rain on cargo left to the elements, in a van the cargo is concealed from eyes of passers by and would be thieves. nap sleep or camp in as is or convert to more serious camper. Can save money not paying for hotels. haul lots of toys, easy for dogs bicycles and motorcycles fit ETA- the E series are discontinued and Mercedes Sprinter is the only factory 4x4 van available. rumored to be moving production to the USA soon, some work (re-assembly) currently in South Carolina. |

Van's are sweet!!
Even the Ford delivery 'thingies' are pretty handy. |

Don't google Sportsmobile. It'll ruin all other vans for you.

As a lifelong GM owner that just bought a 2nd Gen Dodge Ram (for the Cummins), I would recommend against a Dodge. The body and interior are just pretty poor in comparison to GM and to some extent even Ford.

After driving a van for work for the past 10 years or so, I can't imagine dealing with one of those pieces of shit as my personal vehicle. The 1-ton extended Chevy I used to use was pretty comfy though.

If you are an adventurer vans are cool as shit.
If you are a adventurer and have a family, you tell them you can survive without them as long as you have your van. If you are an adventurer with a van, "Don't mess with me you fucks. I love you family no shit. |

I always loved driving conversion vans when I worked at a Chevy dealership. Super comfy and easy to drive.
